Jayan Mehta has already been given the responsibility

When on 2 April 2018, the then MD K.K. Jayan Mehta was appointed in-charge MD even after Rathnam resigned due to corruption charges. At that time Rathnam was facing allegations of corruption to the tune of Rs 450 crore in the allocation of tenders and recruitment in dairy. Let me tell you, at that time the company had told his resignation not because of the allegations, but because of family reasons.

Who is RS Sodhi?

The full name of RS Sodhi is Dr. Rupinder Singh Sodhi, who was till now working as the Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (AMUL). It is the largest food products organization in India. The Amul brand had an annual turnover of Rs 45,000 crore (US$6.5 billion) during 2018-19. Dr. Sodhi has over 38 years of rich experience in leading and developing the cooperative sector within the Indian Dairy Industry. The member unions of GCMMF are procuring 23 million liters of milk per day from more than 18,600 village dairy cooperatives.
