More significant progress is expected from Ukraine in the next round of talks, Maria said. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is in Turkey, where he will hold talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba. The two leaders will discuss a solution to the 14-day-long war.

Maria reiterated that Russia's military operation in Ukraine is in the right direction. Meanwhile, Ukraine claimed that it had killed more than 11,000 Russian soldiers. Russia only confirmed the deaths of 500 of its soldiers. The United Nations has confirmed 474 civilians killed and 861 injured.

700 Indians will fly for home today

Around 700 Indians evacuated from war-torn Sumi are expected to return to India on Thursday. On Wednesday, all left Poltava by special train. This train will bring the students to Laville, from where they will be brought to Poland by bus, then fly back to their home country.

Children's hospital destroyed by bombing in Mariupol

A children's hospital in Mariupol was destroyed in a Russian bombing on Wednesday. Several children and pregnant women are feared trapped under the debris.

Worry: Work stopped at Chernobyl plant, signal stopped coming

According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Russian-occupied Chernobyl nuclear plant has stopped working. Ukraine's state-owned company Energotam said that the power supply was cut off due to the power grid shutdown.

Oil prices up 35%

  • Prices have risen 35 per cent after the US bans oil imports from Russia.
  • Coca-Cola and McDonald's also stopped selling their products in Russia.

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk told that corridors were opened from Energodar-Zaporizhia, Sumy to Poltava, Izyum to Lozova, Mariupol to Zaporizhia, Volnovakha to Pokrovsk, Vorzel, Borodyanka, Irpin and Hostomel to Kyiv.
  • As soon as the corridor opened, 55 children and staff were safely evacuated from an orphanage in Vorzel, Ukraine.
