Cricket | Mumbai Indians bought Arjun Tendulkar for Rs 30 lakh during the mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday. 22-year-old Arjun was also picked by Mumbai last year for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. But this time Arjun Tendulkar was the target of critics for being sold at auction. Many people are of the opinion that being the son of Sachin Tendulkar, he is getting opportunities. Young all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar has also been accused of nepotism.

Arjun has so far played in domestic cricket for India Under-19 and Mumbai. But now the great Sachin Tendulkar has revealed that he doesn't watch his son play as he wants Arjun to fall in love with the game without any pressure.

In a conversation with Graham Bensinger, Sachin said that when he goes to see Arjun play, he prefers to hide. His move remains unknown to his son's coach.

Sachin said, "Father and mother, when they see their kids playing, they get tensed and that's why I don't go to see Arjun, because I want him to have the freedom to love cricket - whatever he wants." Let's focus on him. I don't go to see him play.

He added, "He has to focus on the game. I didn't like to see anyone see me. Even if I go and watch his game, I still hide somewhere. He doesn't know I'm there, and nobody knows, neither his coach, nor anyone."

Arjun, a left-arm bowler and batsman, made his debut for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Haryana last year. He took one wicket for 34 runs in three overs.

Arjun will be a part of the Mumbai Indians camp this year, which includes a number of left-arm bowlers. The five-time champion has included left-arm pacers Tymal Mills and Jaydev Unadkat. Australia's Daniel Sams is also part of the squad.
