Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after four decades, the ruling party will get a thumping majority in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. BJP candidates have been elected unopposed on 9 seats in the elections being held for 36 seats of Legislative Council from local body authority areas. In the remaining 27 seats too, the BJP will win most of the seats. With a thumping majority in the Legislative Council as well as the Legislative Assembly, the government will be able to do even better work in the interest of public welfare programs, women's safety and self-reliance, employment of youth, food donors, farmers and workers.

On Saturday morning, the Chief Minister was talking to the media persons after casting his vote in the election of the Legislative Council member from the Gorakhpur Maharajganj Local Bodies Authority area as an MLA. He said that in the assembly elections under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra, like 2017 in 2022, the BJP has formed a government with a thumping majority by winning more than two-thirds of the seats.

After four decades, such a situation will come when the ruling party will also get a thumping majority in the Legislative Council. All the voters in this election are appealed to vote for the BJP candidates to take forward the public welfare programs. CM Yogi said that in 2017 there was difficulty in the Legislative Council. With the negative role, the Samajwadi Party used to block development and public welfare programs, but after this election, we will get a thumping majority in the Legislative Council and the work of public welfare programs and development will move forward at a fast pace.

The homes of the poor will not be destroyed

Responding to a question, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the policy of zero tolerance against the mafia will continue in the state, but the houses of the poor will not be destroyed. Earlier, professional mafia and criminals used to occupy government public, poor and businessmen's land by getting the protection of power. Anti land mafia task force was formed against this. So far, assets worth Rs 2500 crore have been seized from professional mafia. The officials have been instructed not to remove the hut of any poor till he is provided with accommodation.

If the land does not belong to the reserved category, then the poor should be given a lease there. If he belongs to the reserved category, he should be provided accommodation elsewhere. Similarly, instructions have been given for systematic rehabilitation of street vendors and benefit of Svanidhi scheme. Anti land mafia action is for the professional mafia and not against the poor. There should be sympathy for the poor. On the question of the Twitter handle of the CM office being hacked, the CM said that the agencies are investigating it.
