Amanda Gruenell, 32, was born without a uterus and she successfully gave birth to a healthy baby girl in March this year. This unlikely event was made possible because of uterine transplantation.At the age of 17, Amanda learned that she did not have a uterus. When she was missing her periods and went to a doctor for treatment, then she got information about it. Every women has a uterus, which is a hollow pear-shaped one. When this embryo is fertilized by an egg and sperm, it develops into a baby in the womb.

When I turned 17, we found out I didn't have a uterus. I remember doctors telling me that I would never be able to have children.
