According to the police, Salman Uddin Laskar and Hafsana Begum, who lived in Shyamacharanpur village under Dholai police station area of ​​Cachar, had a three-year-old girl. Around 4.30 pm on Sunday evening, an elderly man reached their house and snatched the three-year-old girl from the mother. By the time the parents could understand something, the man started hitting him with a sharp object. After this, the parents rescued the girl from the elderly man and rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Superintendent of Police Ramandeep Kaur said that the person has been arrested on the complaint of the parents. He will be produced in court. He told that the accused is a resident of Jamalpur village. A few years back he had stabbed an old woman to death in his village, following which he was arrested. In view of his mental condition, his sentence was reduced. He had returned after serving his sentence a year ago.
