Ahead of the third Monday of Sawan, people from other communities pelted stones at a group of kanwariyas in Bareilly's Baradari area, causing chaos. The video of the incident is going viral on social media. As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy police force has reached the spot. There is resentment among the Kanwariyas due to the incident. There is an atmosphere of tension in the area.

Stones were pelted for about 15 minutes

It is being told that the Kanwariyas were going towards the river Ganges to get water. Meanwhile, people from other communities started pelting stones at the Kavadis. Many kanwariyas were injured in this incident. It is being told that stones were pelted for about 15 minutes. On the spot, SSP Prabhakar Chowdhary and SP City Rahul Bhati also inquired about the incident.

A crowd of 50-60 people pelted stones

Thousands of kanwariyas reach the city's Vankhandi Nath temple on every Monday of Sawan. On the third Monday, groups of Kanwariyas started arriving to perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva. It is alleged that during this time a crowd of 50-60 people started pelting stones at the Kanwaris. The stone-pelting took place at Jogi Nawada, about 150 meters from the Vankhandi Nath temple. From where there is also a mosque at some distance. The kanwariyas alleged that people from other communities pelted stones at the DJ.

Youth seen pelting stones in video

Unscrupulous elements tried to vitiate the atmosphere in the city due to the upcoming Muharram and Kanwar Yatra. The video of stone pelting has also surfaced, in which youths are seen pelting stones. During this, some people were also seen creating ruckus in front of the police.
