Sunita Williams Return: Indian-origin American astronaut Sunita Williams and her colleagues Butch Wilmore, Nick Hague and Alexander Gorbunov have successfully returned to Earth after 9 months and 14 days. Their spacecraft 'Dragon' landed on the coast of Florida at 3:27 am on March 19, Indian time. This mission became one of the longest and most challenging missions in history.

17 hours of exciting return journey

The four astronauts left the International Space Station (ISS) on March 18. While entering the Earth's atmosphere, the temperature of the spacecraft exceeded 1650 degrees Celsius, due to which contact was lost for about 7 minutes. Despite this, it managed to land safely after a 17-hour journey.

8-day mission which became 9 months long

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore went on a joint 'Crew Flight Test Mission' of Boeing and NASA. This mission was scheduled for 8 days, but due to technical faults it took more than 9 months. Due to a problem in the thruster, her return was repeatedly delayed.

Wave of happiness in India and around the world

On her safe return, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said, "This is a moment of pride and glory. The whole world is celebrating the safe return of this daughter of India."

Response from NASA and SpaceX

After the success of the mission, NASA thanked SpaceX in the press conference and said that this mission was full of many challenges, but ultimately it was successful.

This journey of Sunita Williams not only adds a new chapter to space exploration, but will also prove to be an important experience for future missions.
