Batting first after losing the toss at the Mumbai Wankhede Stadium, Team India scored a score of 162 runs. After that the visiting team was dismissed for 160 runs. Captain Dasun Shanaka contributed the maximum 45 runs from Sri Lanka. While opener Kusal Mendis added 28 runs. None of the remaining batsmen could perform well.

Sri Lankan wickets fell like this

1st: Pathum Nissanka bowled by Shivam Mavi.

Second: De Silva was caught by Mavi at the hands of Sanju Samson.

Third: Aslanka wants to hit, Umran Malik's ball stands up with the top edge of the bat. The wicket-keeper took a tremendous catch with a long run-up.

Fourth: Mendis wanted to cut Harshal's short wide ball, but the ball went into the hands of Sanju Samson standing at deep cover.

At the same time, Akshar scored 31 runs in 20 balls with the help of three fours and 1 six.

Apart from these two, opener Ishaan Kishan (37 runs) and captain Hardik Pandya (29 runs) also played useful innings. Shubman Gill (7), Suryakumar Yadav (7) and Sanju Samson (5) flopped.

For Sri Lanka, Mahesh Teekshana, Chamika Karunaratne, Dhananjay de Silva, Vanindu Hasaranga and Dilshan Madushanka got one wicket each.
