Agneepath Scheme: The selection process has started under the Agneepath scheme for the recruitment of recruits in the three armies of the country. Youth are actively participating in this scheme. Meanwhile, Air Force Chief VR Choudhary, while appreciating Agneepath, revealed the Indian Air Force's (IAF's) approach to Agniveers on Sunday. He said that the Agneepath scheme will fulfill the long-term vision of the Indian Air Force. The visionary vision of equipping the Indian Air Force with 'lean-lethal' forces will now be fulfilled. This recruitment model will increase the capability of the Indian Air Force.

Air Chief Marshal Chowdhary said that any savings in pension and other expenditure through the implementation of the scheme is only incidental and not a reason to initiate reforms. He said that the Agneepath scheme takes forward the manpower optimization campaign of the Indian Air Force. In which we have reviewed several HR policies and organizational structures over a decade. Under the new scheme, about 7,50,000 candidates have registered for about 3,000 posts in the Indian Air Force.

The scheme, announced on June 14, aims to recruit youth between the age group of 17 and 21 for four years only. Out of which there is a provision to retain 25 percent for 15 more years. For 2022, the upper age limit has been increased to 23 years. Violent protests were witnessed against this plan in many parts of India. The agitators demanded its withdrawal. He said that the new model does not guarantee jobs to 75 percent of the recruits.
