IPL 2025: Preparations for IPL 2025 are in full swing, but the BCCI is still considering the rules for the next season. In particular, a decision on how many players can be retained for the teams is likely this month. Two major rules were implemented last year: two bouncers in an over and the impact player rule. The bouncer rule was beneficial for the bowlers, but the BCCI may change it next season. At the same time, the impact player rule gave a new twist to the game, although its validity is still debated. A final decision on the status of these rules in the next season is yet to be taken.BCCI implemented new rules in last year's IPLEvery year some new rules are implemented in the IPL. Some of these continue further, while some are changed. The two new rules that were implemented last year i.e. in IPL 2024 and became a topic of discussion are two bouncers and the impact player rule. There was not much talk about bouncers, but everyone had different opinions about the impact player. That is, some said it was right and some also objected to it. According to the report of Cricbuzz, now BCCI is considering whether to continue these two rules next year or should they be abolished. In IPL, permission was to bowl two bouncers in an overIn international cricket, a bowler is allowed to bowl only one bouncer in an over. Earlier the same rule was applicable in IPL as well, but in last year's IPL, BCCI implemented the rule of two bouncers in an over. Bowlers also took full advantage of this. By the way, earlier this rule was implemented in India's domestic tournament i.e. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which was quite successful, after which it was brought in IPL. News is coming that BCCI can withdraw the rule of two bouncers in an over, that is, it is possible that only one bouncer may be allowed in next year's IPL. However, nothing can be said for sure until the final decision comes from BCCI.Discussion continues on impact player ruleApart from this, there is another rule, that is the impact player rule. This is a rule that has been in a lot of discussion. Not only India, but some foreign players also raised questions on this. Although many veterans are against this rule, but even after this, it is possible that this rule continues for the next year as well. According to this rule, when the match starts, the captains of both the teams choose five more players along with the playing eleven, who can enter the team at any time during the match. When a new player enters, another player, who is already in the playing eleven, has to go out. Teams do this according to their convenience. This is the reason that many new records were made in terms of runs in last year's IPL. Now it remains to be seen whether BCCI continues this rule further or decides to stop it.
