India / Trump inspects Guard of Honour, receives ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan

US President Donald Trump has been accorded with a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he and US First Lady Melania Trump were received by President Ram Nath Kovind, his wife Savita Kovind and PM Narendra Modi. The US President also inspected the Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump was also present at the ceremony.

New Delhi: A day after Donald Trump was lavishly welcomed by India, US President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold extensive talks on Tuesday.

At the meeting to be held in New Delhi's Hyderabad House, Trump and Modi are expected to get down to business during their restricted and delegation-level talks.

On his day 2 in India, US President Donald Trump will start his day by attending a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi at 10 am, then the president will be laying wreath at Mahatma Gandhi's samadhi at Rajghat, New Delhi.

Besides the signing of the defence deals and at least five memorandum of understanding (MoUs) on issues ranging from natural gas, trade facilitation to civil nuclear cooperation, the two leaders will also review the global and regional situation and discuss ways to take forward bilateral relations.

Today's meeting between PM Modi and President Trump are also likely to send across a clear message of growing congruence of interests between India and the US on major geopolitical developments in the region and beyond.
