Manipur Violence / Violence flares up again in Manipur, 3 dead, blast at BJP leader's house

Manipur Violence: Manipur affected by ethnic violence has once again come under the grip of violence. Today i.e. on Friday, three people died and one person was injured due to the violence that broke out in Kuki Bahul village. According to the police, two people died on the spot, while one died in a few hours. However, the police have not yet reached the spot. On arrival of the police, the dead bodies will be sent for postmortem. On the other hand, the news of IED blast at BJP MLA's house was also revealed on Thursday, according to the information, two people came on a bike and carried out the incident.

Due to this incident, the gate of the BJP leader's house has been damaged. However, there was no casualty in the incident. A leader of the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF), a conglomerate of Kuki groups in Churachandpur district, said the attackers were dressed in olive green. According to the police, the village where the incident took place is completely cookie-dominated. This village is attached to the border of Kangpokpi and Imphal West districts.

So far 105 people have died in the violence

For your information, let us tell you that a total of 105 people have died so far in the conflict between Kuki and Meitei in the state. While 40,000 people have been displaced since violence broke out in the Imphal Valley on May 3 between the dominant community Meitei, tribal Kukis who live mostly in the hill districts.

Violence erupted over the grant of Scheduled Tribe status to Meitei

This violence had erupted after Meitei community was given Scheduled Tribe status. Violence quickly engulfed the state. After which the authorities imposed curfew in the state and shut down the internet. Amid growing clashes, additional security forces were sent to the state.
