A Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) official told Cricbuzz that it is a grade 1 hamstring injury and he will have to report to the NCA on Tuesday (February 15). Obviously he will have to spend three weeks at the NCA.

Washington Sundar has become the third Indian player to be ruled out of the T20I series. Before him, vice-captains KL Rahul and Axar Patel have also been ruled out of the series. Rituraj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda have been included in the team as their replacements.

The BCCI had issued a press release stating that Rahul suffered a muscle strain while fielding in the second ODI against West Indies, while Axar was in the final stages of his rehabilitation after recovering from the corona virus. Will not be able to play the series. He will now go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to further monitor his injury.
