If sources are to be believed, there was more support in the name of Siddaramaiah in this opinion poll. When DK Shivkumar came to know about this, his attitude was seen to have changed slightly since then.

Keeping Siddaramaiah out of power means that the party may have to bear the displeasure of 40 percent of the population in the Lok Sabha elections, which the party does not want to take at present.

Power sharing only option

DK Shivakumar, on the other hand, comes from the Vokkaliga community. In such a situation, the high command is left with no other option but to keep both happy and power-sharing in view of the Lok Sabha elections.

The party took out the formula of 2 + 3

According to sources, the party has worked out a 2+3 formula keeping in mind the formation of the government and the Lok Sabha without any hassle. For the first 2 years, Siddaramaiah will be made the CM so that 40 percent of the Ahinda votes in the Lok Sabha elections can be made in his court. After this, a Dalit and Lingayat leader including DK Shivakumar will be made deputy CM so that the party will also get the support of Vokkaliga and Lingayat votes in the Lok Sabha elections. After 2 years, DK Shivakumar will be made the CM for the next three years. Along with this, the next election will be fought under his leadership only so that the strength of the organization remains. According to party sources, Siddaramaiah has more or less agreed with this proposal, but since politics is a game of uncertainties, DK Shivakumar is currently not happy about this formula. That's why the efforts to persuade him have intensified in the Congress.
