S. M. Krishna News: SM Krishna, who left an indelible mark in Indian politics, is no longer among us. At the age of 92, he died at his residence in Bengaluru. He was ill for a long time. In 1971, he again won the Mandya Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket and entered national politics.Golden tenure as Chief Minister of KarnatakaSM Krishna was the Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1999 to 2004. During this time he made a significant contribution to the development of the state. Under his leadership, there was a revolution in the IT sector in the state and Bengaluru was established as the "Silicon Valley of India". His policies made Karnataka one of the most emerging states in the country.Contribution as Foreign Minister and GovernorSM Krishna served as Foreign Minister in the Manmohan Singh government from 2009 to 2012. During this time he played an important role in strengthening India's foreign policy and strengthening the country's position on the global stage. Earlier, he was also the Governor of Maharashtra from December 2004 to March 2008.Political change and association with BJPIn March 2017, SM Krishna left the Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He played a new role in active politics by joining BJP.
