Karnataka New CM: The stir regarding the change of leadership has intensified in Karnataka politics. There is speculation about the continuation of the current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the post, while the supporters of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar are demanding to hand over the command of the state to him. Amidst this political turmoil, senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister M Veerappa Moily has made a big claim that no one can stop DK Shivakumar from becoming the Chief Minister.

Support of Veerappa Moily

Veerappa Moily said that DK Shivakumar has played an important role in strengthening the Congress party. He said, "People may be giving different statements, but no one can stop DK from becoming the Chief Minister. Becoming the Chief Minister is not given as a gift, it has to be earned with hard work, and DK Shivakumar has earned it. We all wish him to become the Chief Minister as soon as possible."

DK Shivakumar's reaction

When DK Shivakumar was asked to react to this statement of Veerappa Moily, he refused to make any comment. He said, "I was busy in a workers' meeting and I have to tour the entire state as the state Congress president." This statement of DK Shivakumar is creating more curiosity among his supporters.

Moily's claim - DK has a strong hold

Addressing a Congress program in Karkala, Veerappa Moily said that he was the first person who helped DK Shivakumar get an election ticket for the first time. He said, "Today he has emerged as a successful leader in Karnataka. Despite being the state Congress president, he worked for the party at the national level even in difficult circumstances and has contributed to forming Congress governments in other states."

Basavaraju V Sivaganga also supported

Before Veerappa Moily's statement, Congress MLA Basavaraju V Sivaganga had also claimed that DK Shivakumar would become the Chief Minister. He had said, "DK Shivakumar will become the Chief Minister in December and will remain in this position for at least the next seven and a half years."

Silence of the Congress high command

The Congress high command has not given any clear indication on this entire development so far. However, there is a constant discussion in the party that DK Shivakumar can be given the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister. Many meetings are being held on this subject within the Congress and a big decision can be taken soon on this.

What next?

It has not even been a year since the Congress government was formed in Karnataka, but speculations of leadership change have heated up the politics of the state. Now it will be interesting to see what decision the Congress high command takes on this issue and whether Karnataka will actually witness a change of power in December.
