Rakshabandhan 2022: There is a tradition of celebrating Rakshabandhan on the full moon date of Shravan month. On this day sisters tie rakhi on their brother's wrist and wish him long life. In return, the brothers promise to protect them. However, this time too there is confusion among people regarding the date of Raksha Bandhan, on which date this festival will be celebrated. Some people are telling Rakshabandhan on August 11, 2022, while some are claiming to be a festival on August 12.

According to Pt. Ramesh Kumar Shastri, let us tell you in detail about the exact date of Rakshabandhan, the shadow of Bhadra and the auspicious time to tie Rakhi.

According to Dharmasindhu, Rakshabandhan should be celebrated in Pradosh Vyapini Purnima but Bhadra Vyapini should not be celebrated.

Bhadrayan dwe na duttisam, sravani phalguni va.

Shravani Nihanti Hantim, Village Dahati Phalguni.

Meaning:- Two festivals should not be celebrated in Bhadra period. Raksha Bandhan and Holi The sister who ties protection in Bhadra is the destroyer of her brother's family. And if Holi festival is celebrated during Bhadra period, it is harmful for all the villagers.

The full moon is starting from 10:38 am on Thursday, August 11, 2022, but is full of Bhadra. Because on Thursday, August 11, 2022, Bhadra is starting from 10.38 am in the morning, which will remain till 8.51 pm in the night.

There is no Bhadra on August 12, 2022, but the full moon date is only till 07:16 in the morning. Being Udaya Tithi, Rakshaban will be celebrated only on 12th August.

Auspicious time for Rakshabandhan on Friday 12th August:-

From 6:12 am to 8.30 am there is a lion (fixed ascendant). So this is the best time.

(Rahukaal is from 10.30 am to 12.30 am, so do not tie Rakhi at this time)

Scorpio Ascendant (stable) is in the afternoon from 6 minutes to 3:24 in the afternoon, so this is the best Muhurta.
