Central Government: The central government has become more vigilant than ever about the safety of two-wheeler drivers. Giving priority to road safety, the government has banned 162 helmet manufacturing companies. All these companies were not following the standards of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BSI), due to which strict action has been taken against them. The helmets made by these companies were not meeting the safety standards and hence the government has declared them unsafe.

Increasing danger of duplicate helmets

Many helmets sold on the roadside may be sold in the name of well-known companies, but in reality they are fake. These helmets do not meet the standards of BSI and put people's lives at risk. Since the names of well-known companies are misused in these, people get confused and use them due to not being serious about safety. The government has decided to take action against such fake and low-quality helmet manufacturing companies.

Helmet manufacturing process: Focus on safety standards

Recently, the plant of India's leading helmet manufacturer Steelbird was visited, where helmets are manufactured in accordance with standards such as BSI, DOT, and ECE 22.06. The process of making a helmet begins with the design, which is prepared keeping in mind the convenience of the users.

Helmets are made with high quality machines

After the design of the helmet is finalized, attention is also paid to making the thermocol used in it strong. It was seen in the Steelbird factory that this thermocol is prepared with such strength that it cannot be broken by ordinary methods. High-pressure thermocol is made from machines, which ensures the safety of the head at the time of an accident.

Assembly and visor test

After the design and thermocol are manufactured, colors and graphics are applied on the outer part of the helmet. Then foam, cloth and buckles are assembled, which provide strength to the helmet. The visor was also tested at the Steelbird factory, in which an attempt was made to burn it with fire. This test ensures that the visor does not get damaged even in heat and can protect the eyes in an accident. Additionally, the helmet was tested with high pressure machines, in which its structure was found to be strong and safe.

Conclusion

The government's strictness regarding road safety is an important step. Banning the sale of fake and unsafe helmets will help in reducing injuries in road accidents. It is expected that this action will increase the use of safe helmets and ensure the safety of two-wheeler riders.
