Coronavirus / 276 Indians infected with coronavirus abroad including 255 in Iran: Govt

The Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday said that as many as 276 Indians are infected with coronavirus abroad. The most number of Indians infected abroad are in Iran (255), followed by UAE (12) and Italy (5). Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus rose to 47 which includes 25 foreign nationals.

New Delhi: The novel coronavirus shows no signs of stopping as cases of COVID-19 – the disease it causes – mount worldwide.

The Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday, 18 March, confirmed that there are 276 coronavirus infected Indians abroad – 255 in Iran, 12 in UAE, five in Italy, one each in Sri Lanka, Hong Kong SAR, Kuwait, and Rwanda.

On Wednesday, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India neared 150, according to the Health Ministry data.
