The security forces deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) adjoining the Kashmir Valley kept a tight vigil on the LoC during the cold winter and did not allow a single infiltration attempt to succeed. Now with the snow melting in the high mountainous areas of North Kashmir, the challenges of the security personnel posted there have increased. According to the inputs of intelligence agencies, four terrorist launching pads have become active across the border. The terrorists present there are on the lookout for infiltration as soon as they get an opportunity. Therefore, vigil has been increased on the traditional infiltration routes.

As per the inputs given by the intelligence agencies to the security forces, there are more than 300 terrorists present at the launching pads across the border. They are looking for an opportunity to infiltrate into the Kashmir Valley. The security forces also believe that many fundamentalists can be sent to Kashmir from Afghanistan, but they are ready to deal with any such situation. Recently, top BSF officers have visited the LoC.

IG BSF, Kashmir Frontier, Raja Babu Singh said, "After the snow melts in these high altitude areas, we are increasing surveillance on those areas. Sources say that around 125-150 terrorists are trying to infiltrate from across the border. The Army and BSF have ensured that the terrorists are eliminated and the situation in the Valley is very peaceful. The soldiers guarding the border have been given all new technology equipment. Patrols have also been increased along the LoC. The patrolling of the hills is being done day and night. Different patrol teams keep patrolling every 24 hours.

BSF jawans say that they are guarding the LoC here round the clock and there is no scope for any possibility of infiltration in this area. In the plains of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have intensified anti-terrorist operations. Around 47 terrorists have been killed in various encounters in 2022. After an infiltrator was killed a few days ago in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district of Jammu division, it is now being expressed that the terrorists are desperate to infiltrate.

Meanwhile, to take stock of the LoC and review the preparedness of the Army, Army Commander, Northern Command, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, visited the forward military installations along the LoC in the Kashmir Valley and met with the troops stationed there. Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi urged the officers and jawans to remain vigilant along the Line of Control and maintain vigil there.
