Bihar / Anganwadis and primary schools to reopen in Bihar from Nov 15: CM

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Friday that all Anganwadis and primary schools will be reopened in the state from November 15, 2021. He tweeted the COVID-19 restrictions yielded positive results and the decision was taken after reviewing the situation. "All eligible persons will be vaccinated. The rest of the earlier decisions will continue," he tweeted.

Patna: Recently, Bihar Chief Minister or CM Nitish Kumar announced that anganwadis and primary schools would reopen for physical classes in the state. Anganwadis & Primary Schools would resume in an offline mode from November 15, 2021. Bihar CM took to Twitter to announce that the decision has been taken after the restrictions that were put by the state government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, gave positive results. Thus, with the decline in the number of COVID-19 cases, Anganwadis & Primary Schools would reopen with proper COVID-19 protocols. 

Schools have already resumed for classes 1 to 8 in the state from August 16, 2021. Schools resumed with protocols such as wearing masks, not sharing lunches between students, maintaining social distancing, sanitization of buses, and other rules. Schools also resumed for classes 9 to 12 in the state in the month of August. Bihar CM mentioned on Twitter, "Corona pandemic restrictions have yielded positive results. After reviewing the situation today, it has been decided to open all Anganwadi centers and schools for small children by November 15, 2021."

The Chief Minister also highlighted that in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the district administration would issue orders for crowd management and processions. Further, for passengers coming from other states, a compulsory COVID-19 test would be done. Bihar has one of the lowest active COVID-19 cases in the state. The total number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 56. The death ratio due to COVID-19 in Bihar is 1.33% and the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the state is 9,660.

Further, the Chief Minister also added that precautions against COVID-19 are essential in the state. He added that people who are eligible for vaccination would be vaccinated. The total number of people who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so far in the state is 5,20,91,389 people. The number of people who have received a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is 4,21,08,173.
