India / Arnab Goswami granted interim bail by SC in 2018 abetment to suicide case

Republic TV's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami and two others were on Wednesday granted interim bail by Supreme Court on a bond of ₹50,000. The interim bail comes seven days after the journalist was arrested from his Mumbai residence in a 2018 case of alleged abetment to suicide. The SC said High Court was in error in rejecting Goswami's interim bail application.

New Delhi: TV anchor Arnab Goswami granted bail by Supreme Court in abetment to suicide case.

Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami was arrested on Nov. 4, for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 53-year-old interior designer in 2018, in Mumbai.

A bench headed by Justice Chandrachud says Arnab Goswami and two other accused be released on interim bail on a bond of Rs 50,000. It directs the Commissioner of Police to ensure the order is followed immediately.
