Abdullah Azam Khan: SP leader Azam Khan's troubles do not seem to be reducing. The court has declared the entire family guilty in the case of two birth certificates of son Abdullah Azam. All three have been sentenced to 7 years each. Today itself all three will be sent to jail directly from the court. The MP-MLA court of Rampur has given this order. BJP leader Akash Saxena had filed a case in this matter.In the 2017 assembly elections, Azam Khan's son Abdullah Azam contested on SP ticket from Swar assembly seat of Rampur. He also won this election. His rival candidate and BSP leader Nawab Kazim Ali Khan challenged Abdullah's age in the High Court. He had alleged that Abdullah was not of the age to contest legislative elections.The court had declared Abdullah's birth certificate fakeAbdullah's date of birth in educational certificates is 1 January 1993 while his birth certificate shows 30 September 1990. While hearing the case, the High Court had found the birth certificate presented by Abdullah to be fake and canceled his election from Swar seat. The court had found that Abdullah was less than 25 years of age when he contested the elections in 2017.Abdullah was less than 25 years oldAbdullah was less than 25 years of age when he contested the UP Assembly elections in 2017. But still he contested the elections on the basis of fake certificate. When Abdullah Azam contested the assembly elections from Swar assembly seat of Rampur, Shafiq Ansari was his proposer. Now Shafiq Ansari is in Apna Dal and has become the MLA of Apna Dal with his voice. However, in 2017, only Abdullah Azam won the election from Swar seat.After this there was a new twist in this matter. BJP MLA from Rampur, Akash Saxena, filed a case against Azam Khan's son Abdullah Azam in Rampur's Ganj police station in 2019 for having two birth certificates, in which Azam Khan and his wife Tanzin Fatima were also made accused.Now the court has found Azam Khan, Abdullah Azam and Tanzin Fatima guilty and sentenced all three to 7 years imprisonment.
