India-Bangladesh News: The series of violence against the minority community, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh is not stopping. The repeated attacks on religious places and communities have worried many countries including India. The US and other Western countries have also expressed their views on this issue. Meanwhile, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visited Bangladesh on Monday, where he stressed on this subject.

India's concern and Bangladesh's response

During the meeting, India expressed serious concern over the attacks on the Hindu community, temples and diplomatic properties in Bangladesh. India spoke of building positive and mutually beneficial relations with the neighboring country in the context of these incidents.

However, Bangladesh described it as its "internal matter" and urged India not to interfere in it. Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Mohammad Jashimuddin raised his voice against the "negative campaign" in India and appealed to Delhi to stop it. He believes that India's interference on these issues can sour relations between the two countries.

India's appeal on safety of minorities

India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in his meeting sought priority for the safety of Hindus and other minority communities. He took a serious note of the attacks on cultural, religious and diplomatic properties in Bangladesh and expected action from the Bangladeshi administration.

Misri told the media that India wants to maintain positive and constructive relations with Bangladesh. However, he also made it clear that the safety of minorities is an issue that cannot be ignored.

Growing discontent in Bangladesh

The continuous attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh is not just a local issue; it is also affecting the diplomatic relations between India and Bangladesh. The Bangladesh government's claim that it is their "internal matter" has become a challenge for India.

Future direction

This was the first official meeting between the two countries since Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went on a foreign tour. It will be important to see how the two countries find solutions to these issues.

It is imperative to create an environment of cooperation and trust between the two neighbouring countries. However, this is not possible without discussion and action on the protection of minorities. India and Bangladesh must work collectively on this subject to ensure regional stability and peace.
