Champions Trophy: Team India captain Rohit Sharma is not having a good time at the moment. For some time now, every decision, every innings and every step taken by him on the field has failed. In this difficult phase, the captain is facing another important challenge, that is some important selection decisions before an important tournament like the Champions Trophy. Team India has many big decisions in this tournament, and one of the important questions is about the selection of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.

Who will get the chance?

Team India's squad for the Champions Trophy has already been announced, although questions are still being raised about the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Meanwhile, a new question has arisen in front of Rohit and coach Gautam Gambhir, that is to give a place to either Jadeja or Axar Patel in the playing eleven.

A total of four spinners have been included in Team India for this tournament, which include Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav. Now, if the team decides to play three spinners, then Sundar and Kuldeep are almost certain to play as they are both different types of spinners. In such a situation, Rohit will have to take a difficult decision to choose one of Jadeja and Axar, as both these players are spin-allrounders.

Both players increased the challenge

This selection challenge has become even more difficult, as both the players have performed brilliantly recently. While Jadeja took more than 5 wickets (total 12 wickets) in both the innings in the Ranji Trophy match, Axar Patel showed the impact of his bowling by taking 2-2 wickets in both the T20 matches played against England.

Although the performance of both of them was different from the ODI format, they have still given a signal of their form to the captain and coach. Now everyone's eyes are fixed on the decision of whom Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir choose.

The decision can be clear from three ODIs

Keeping the concerns and pressure in mind, Team India will get an opportunity to play a three-match ODI series against England starting February 6. This series can prove to be an important opportunity for Rohit Sharma and coach Gautam Gambhir to test the form of these two players and take a right decision before the Champions Trophy.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see in the coming time whether Rohit and Gambhir give preference to Jadeja or field Akshar Patel. Team India's decision for the Champions Trophy can prove to be important for the success of the team and the stability of the captain.
