Bihar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, on Tuesday, announced a relaxation in COVID-19 restrictions in the state for the next one week, from June 16 to 22. The government and private offices have now been allowed to function till 5 pm. Shops will remain open till 6 pm. Night curfew will be in place from 8 pm to 5 am, the latest orders said."The status of corona infection was reviewed. For the next one week i.e. from 16.06.21 to 22.06.21, now the government and non-government offices will remain open till 5 pm, shops and establishments will remain open till 6 pm. Night curfew will be in force from 8 pm to 5 am (sic)," Nitish Kumar said in a tweet in Hindi.Meanwhile, according to the state health department, the recovery rate in Bihar increases to 98 per cent even as the number of fresh cases dipped below 400. 13 fresh fatalities were reported in Bihar, taking the overall death toll to 9,505. 324 people tested positive on Monday taking the active caseload to 4,771. The caseload was over a lakh during the peak of the second COVID-19 wave.1.22 crore people vaccinated so farAccording to the data shared by the state health department, 1.22 crore of over 13 crore population of the state, have been vaccinated to date.The ongoing restrictions were imposed on May 13. In what could highlight the stark difference between the situation during the time and the present tally, the Covid-19 numbers in the second week of May stood at 6,22,433 and the daily new cases touched almost 10,000.
