Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Sunday alleged that the BJP and RSS had falsely campaigned to mislead her supporters that if the BJP was allowed to win in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, Behenji would be made the President. Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati also made it clear that she would never accept such an offer from any party. BSP chief Mayawati was addressing a review meeting of office bearers, key workers and former candidates held here on Sunday for the first time after the party's defeat in the assembly elections. During this, he said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worked under a well-thought-out conspiracy to weaken the BSP in this election.

Describing the reason for the defeat in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Mayawati said that the BJP through its organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has given this wrong propaganda among our people that if the BSP government is not formed in UP, we will make your sister the President of the country. Will get it built, so you should let the BJP come to power." According to the statement issued from the BSP headquarters, she said that it is a far cry for her to become the President, she cannot even dream about it. The BSP chief said that he also knows that his offer was rejected long ago by Mr. Kanshi Ram and I am his strong disciple following in his footsteps. He said that when Kanshi Ram did not accept this post, then how can she accept this post. She claimed that she can never accept the presidency on behalf of the BJP or any other party in the interest of her party and the movement. He said that 'now my life is struggle and struggle is my life, that means now every moment of my life will be spent on strengthening my party at every level in the whole country.' The BSP president also stressed on connecting the poor and suffering people of the most backward classes, Muslim and other religious minorities and upper castes.

It is noteworthy that the counting of votes for the seven-phased Uttar Pradesh assembly elections was held on March 10 and out of 403 seats in the state, the BSP won only one seat. In the 2017 elections, the BSP had won only 19 seats. But this time by the time elections came, most of the party's MLAs joined the Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2007, the election results of the BSP, which formed the majority government in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Mayawati, have been very disappointing. He said that despite taking unilateral votes of Muslim community and contesting elections with a coalition of dozens of parties and organizations, SP has come a long way from coming to power. In such a situation, the SP can never come back to power, nor can this party stop the BJP from coming to power. Mayawati also claimed that now people of Muslim society are repenting after voting for SP. He said that SP is repeatedly taking advantage of the weakness of Muslims, so efforts have to be made to bring the directionless people out of the grip of SP and bring them back to their party.
