Lucknow News: A terrible accident occurred in the Transport Nagar area of ​​​​Lucknow on Friday morning, when a three-storey building suddenly collapsed. So far five people have died and 24 people have been seriously injured in this tragic incident. Relief and rescue work is going on rapidly, and so far 28 people have been evacuated safely.

Identification and status of the building

According to the information, the name of the collapsed building was 'Harmilap Building'. Various types of commercial activities were conducted in this building. Mobile and spare parts business was done on the ground floor, there was a warehouse of medicines on the middle floor, while a warehouse of gift items was located on the third floor. After the collapse of the building, many people were buried under the debris, which caused difficulties in relief and rescue work.

Identification of the dead

Naib Tehsildar Govardhan Shukla has confirmed that a total of five people have lost their lives in this accident. The deceased have been identified as Pankaj Tiwari, Dheeraj Gupta, and Arun Sonkar. One of these people was sent to Apollo Hospital for treatment, but he also died on the way.

Relief and rescue work

NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue work at the site. Drones and voice detection techniques are being used to rescue people trapped in the debris. Eight ambulances are present at the spot, and additional ambulances have been arranged if required. All the injured have been admitted to Lokbandhu Hospital in Lucknow.

Officials' response

Lucknow MP and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over the incident. He tweeted that he spoke to the District Magistrate and got information about the relief work going on at the spot. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also taken cognizance of the accident and has directed to send SDRF and NDRF to the spot. The CM has instructed the officials to complete the relief work expeditiously.

Administrative action

In view of the seriousness of this accident, teams of NDRF, SDRF, fire brigade, medical department and municipal corporation are engaged in quick relief and rescue work. Senior officials of the district are reaching the spot and taking stock of the situation and monitoring the relief work.
