The Calcutta High Court has ordered the Nadia District Police to trace a pig. Some lawyers of Kalyani Court had given a petition in the High Court regarding this. They said that a pig named Ghana was stolen from the court premises on March 25. Many animals live in the court premises. On March 25, at around 6 in the morning, a man stole a pig.

Lawyer Shivaji Das said, we all loved Ghana. We used to give him food and also take care of him. She never used to leave the court premises. The person who stole it had come in a white car. A sweeper saw him stealing and also made a video in mobile. The number plate of the car is also visible in the video.

He said, seeing the video, it seems that the thief knows how to handle animals very well. Das said that the High Court bench headed by Justice Shampa Sarkar has ordered the police to find Ghana.

The lawyer said, we had lodged a complaint at Kalyani police station. The police registered a case of theft but did nothing after that. There was no section of cruelty against animals in the FIR. That's why we had to go to the Calcutta High Court. After hearing the petition, Justice Sarkar ordered Ranaghat SP to conduct an inquiry and find Ghana. The court also asked why the section of cruelty against animals was not imposed. At the same time, an official of Kalyani police station said that no comment can be made without seeing the copy of the court's order.
