Smugglers are bringing tomatoes from China to India by filling them in carats on the way to No Man's Land. However, the soldiers and policemen posted on the border are also catching the smugglers with tomatoes. Despite this, the smuggling of tomatoes is not stopping.

Tomatoes are being sold for Rs 100 to 150 a kg

Right now Chinese tomatoes are being sold very cheap in Nepal. 5 kg Chinese tomatoes are available for 100 Nepali rupees. This is the reason why smugglers are smuggling cheap Chinese tomatoes from Nepal and selling them at a high price. At the same time, good quality tomatoes are being sold at Rs 100 to 150 per kg in the mandis of Purnia district adjacent to Nepal. Please tell that one Nepali rupee is equal to about 63 paise in Indian rupee. According to this, 100 Nepali rupees became approximately 63 rupees in Indian currency.

Action can be taken against 6 officers of Custom Department

Let us tell you that only yesterday the news came out that the police and the soldiers of Sashastra Seema Bal have busted the smuggling of tomatoes in Nautanwa area of Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh. Police and Sashastra Seema Bal personnel seized 3 tonnes of tomatoes at the Indo-Nepal border, worth Rs 4.8 lakh. At the same time, action can be taken against 6 officers of the Custom Department in this matter.
