Tihar Jail Director General Sandeep Goel has confirmed that there was a clash between prisoners and jail workers in Tihar. Jail officials say that there was a fight between two groups of prisoners in jail number four on Friday evening. The prisoners were attacking each other. After getting information about this, an assistant superintendent and jail security personnel reached there.

Jail personnel tried to separate the beating prisoners. Meanwhile, a group of prisoners attacked the jail personnel itself. As soon as the information about the attack on the jail personnel was received, the security personnel engaged in the security of the jail were sent there. After that the situation was brought under control. The assistant jail superintendent and a warder were seriously injured in the fight. Four prisoners also suffered serious injuries. All were sent to DDU Hospital. While other prisoners and jail personnel with minor injuries were given first aid at the jail hospital. The Director General of Prisons says that the situation is under control.
