Child Vaccination / Corona vaccination of children from 12 to 14 years from tomorrow, will give dose of Corbivax

The central government has now announced the vaccination of children in the age group of 12 to 14 years in the country. These children will be vaccinated from Wednesday, March 16. These children will be given only one dose of Corbivax. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Tuesday gave instructions to the states regarding this vaccination campaign.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Tuesday gave instructions to the states regarding this vaccination campaign. At present, separate vaccination is going on in the country for children 15 to 18 years and adults above 18 years.

In a letter to the Chief Secretaries of the states, Bhushan has said that children in the age group of 12 to 13 years and 13 to 14 years will be vaccinated against Corbivax. Children in the age group of 14 to 15 years have already been included in the vaccination of those in the age group of 15 to 18 years. Children of this age group are being given Covoxin, a fully indigenous vaccine prepared by Bharat Biotech.

Precautionary dosage for people above 60 years

The Health Secretary has said that people of 60 years or above will be given precautionary doses. In this, priority will be given to those people who have been more than nine months after taking the second dose. Precautionary doses will also be given of the same vaccine which has been vaccinated in the past.

The Corbivax vaccine has been developed by Biologics E. Recently it has been approved by the drug regulator for emergency use. The central government has ordered the company to purchase five crore vaccines. The company has also started supplying them to the government.
