Johannesburg: Two new sub-variants of Coronavirus Omicron Variant can infect people again by damaging immunity. Scientists from South Africa have claimed this in a study. He said that due to all these variants, a new wave of corona can be seen. However, these scientists also said that people who have taken the Kovid-19 vaccine are less likely to get infected.

Scientists from several institutions are investigating Omicron's BA.4 and BA.5 sub variants – which the World Health Organization added to its watch list last month. They took blood samples of 39 people infected with Omicron for the first time late last year. It has been revealed in this study that, about 5 times more neutralization capacity was shown in people who had been vaccinated.

In the sample of people who did not receive the vaccine, antibodies were significantly affected by exposure to BA.4 and BA.5 compared to the original variant BA.1 of Omicron, and it was three times less than in those who had been vaccinated.

It is being speculated that the 5th wave of corona may come in South Africa. Officials and scientists said on Friday that the cases of corona virus infection due to Omicron's BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants are increasing continuously. It has been said in this study that these two sub-variants of Omicron have the potential to give rise to a new wave of corona.
