New Delhi : The special CBI court is likely to pronounce its order on the appeal of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to make accused Dinesh Arora a witness in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam case and seek government witness status for him. Special CBI Judge MK Nagpal is hearing the case. He said that he is looking into the application submitted by the CBI. He will also pass orders on the demand for court proceedings in the eyes of the camera.

During the hearing, accused Dinesh Arora, an alleged aide of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, took an oath to speak the truth. He said he was ready to voluntarily share information about his involvement in the alleged offences. He said that I have cooperated in the investigation being done by CBI in the past also. I have also given some statements in this regard before the investigating officer.

It is to be known that the CBI on Monday filed a petition in the court under CrPC 306 to make businessman Dinesh Arora a witness in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam case. A few days back, the same court had granted anticipatory bail to Dinesh Arora after the CBI did not oppose the bail plea in the case.

The anticipatory bail application was filed by Arora after the CBI arrested Vijay Nair and the ED arrested Sameer Mahendru. Later, the CBI also arrested Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally in the ongoing probe into the case related to alleged irregularities in formulation and implementation of the excise policy of GNCTD of Delhi.
