Sonia-Rahul Gandhi: Problems of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi may increase. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued an order to temporarily attach assets worth crores of rupees of Congress-linked AJL and Young India in the National Herald case. This action has been taken by ED in the money laundering case. Under this, property worth Rs 751.9 crore has been seized. The Central Investigation Agency said that among the seized assets, AJL has properties in many places including Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow. Its total cost is Rs 661.69 crore. ED said that the value of Young Indian's property is Rs 90.21 crore.AJL's assets worth Rs 661.69 crore seizedThe ED issued a statement on the social media platform 'X' saying that an order under PMLA was issued against the newspaper publisher Associated Journal Limited (AJL) and its holding company Young Indian. The statement said, "Investigation has revealed that AJL has the proceeds of crime in the form of immovable properties, which are located in many cities of the country like Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow. Their value is Rs 661.69 crore. Indian holds the proceeds of crime amounting to Rs 90.21 crore in the form of 'equity shares' of AJL."
Singhvi's attack on ED's actionThe Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has interrogated former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge in this case and recorded their statements. On this action of ED, senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, "The news of ED's attachment of AJL properties shows their desperation to divert attention from the certain defeat in the ongoing elections in the states. He said, "PMLA The action can only arise as a result of a predicate or principal crime. There is no transfer of any immovable property. There is no movement of money. There are no proceeds of crime. In fact, there is no complainant who can make this claim. Do you think he has been cheated on, not even a single one!”ED has issued an order to provisionally attach properties worth Rs. 751.9 Crore in a money-laundering case investigated under the PMLA, 2002.
