Uttar Pradesh : Retired IPS and famous ghazalkar Dinesh Chandra Pandey's screams were drowned in suffocating smoke. Dinesh Chandra Pandey was sleeping with his family on the first floor in house number 28 of Indira Nagar Sector 18. A fire broke out in the adjoining room and the whole room started burning. The flames could not be seen outside as the room was closed. Instead of coming out of the fire, smoke filled the room in which the family was sleeping. The condition of the sleeping family became such that no one could even make a sound. Even if the voice was raised, no one would have heard the news. Being the day of Dhanteras everyone was busy with their work. When the fire started on the first floor, the smoke started moving upwards. The people below were not even aware of the fire.
