India / Farmers to halt toll collection on highways in Haryana from Dec 25-27

The protesting farmers will halt toll collection on national highways in Haryana from December 25 to 27, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Jagjit Singh Dallewala said on Sunday. It was also announced that the protesting farmers will organise a day-long relay hunger strike on Monday at all sites of protest against the new farm laws.

New Delhi: Farmers who are protesting against the Centre’s three new agriculture-related laws will halt toll collection on highways in Haryana from December 25 to 27, farmer leader Jagjeet Singh Dalewala said on Sunday.

Swaraj India chief Yogendra Yadav said farmers will begin day-long relay hunger strike on Monday at all protest sites against new agri laws.

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said the protesters will celebrate Kisan Diwas on December 23. He requested people to not cook lunch for a day.
