Farmers Protest News: A big Mahapanchayat is going to be organized today against the arrest of farmers and ignoring their demands. Thousands of farmers are expected to gather in this Mahapanchayat, who are adamant on marching to Delhi to raise their voice. The police is trying to stop them on the Delhi-Noida border, but the determination of the farmers is not letting them stop.Yogi government's initiative: Committee formed for solutionThe Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has constituted a five-member committee to negotiate with the farmers and find a solution. This committee will work under the chairmanship of IAS Anil Kumar Sagar, Principal Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department. Other members include Special Secretary Piyush Verma, ACEOs Sanjay Khatri and Saumya Srivastava of Noida and Greater Noida Authority, and ACEO Kapil Singh of Yamuna Authority.This committee will submit its report and recommendations to the government within a month. This initiative of the government is being considered a positive step, but the farmers have made it clear that they will not back down from their movement.Farmers gather at Mahamaya flyoverUnder the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Morcha President Naresh Tikait, the farmers' protest will start at Mahamaya flyover at 12 noon today. Tikait said that their demands are legitimate and the movement will continue till the government fulfills them.The main demands of the farmers are to guarantee the minimum support price (MSP), release of arrested farmers and ensure transparency in land acquisition matters.Political and social supportThe farmers' movement is getting support from many political parties and leaders. Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy has said that the government should immediately accept the demands of the farmers. On the other hand, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has blamed the Congress for the problems of the farmers.Vice President's displeasureOn this issue, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed displeasure over the attitude of the government. In a program, he questioned Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as to why the promises made to the farmers have not been fulfilled till now. He said that farmers are repeatedly assured of giving a fair price for their produce, but in reality it is not happening.Dhankhar described the issue as a "matter of depth" and said that taking it lightly would be a serious failure of policy-making. He appealed to the Agriculture Minister to take concrete steps to resolve the issue as soon as possible.Increasing impact of the farmers' movementThis movement of farmers is affecting not only Uttar Pradesh and Delhi but also national politics.
