Lok Sabha Election / Final talks held between Congress and SP, Akhilesh Yadav will withdraw candidate from Varanasi

Lok Sabha Election: After a long time of talks, the seat formula has been decided between SP and Congress. This can be announced any time. Varanasi will remain in the account of Congress only. Akhilesh Yadav will withdraw his candidate from here. The Congress high command ultimately asked for only two changes on the seats given by Akhilesh. First- Hathras should be given back to SP and Sitapur should be given.

SP accepted this demand of Congress. Secondly, SP should take one seat from Bulandshahr or Mathura and give Shravasti to Congress. SP has said to consider this. The Congress high command is now satisfied. The agreement can be announced any time. There was a struggle going on between the two parties regarding this for a long time. Ultimately this issue has been resolved between the two.

Congress drops demand for Moradabad seat

It is being told that Priyanka Gandhi spoke to Rahul Gandhi today and then she spoke to Akhilesh Yadav. The demand for Moradabad seat has been dropped by Congress. Further talks are going on between the UP in-charge of Congress and Samajwadi Party. Seat distribution may be announced today or tomorrow. Akhilesh Yadav will return from Moradabad by evening. After that final round of talks is possible. Samajwadi Party has said that it will withdraw its candidate from Varanasi.

Congress will negotiate till the end for alliance

Congress had said that it will try till the end for an alliance with the Samajwadi Party regarding seat sharing. Congress believes that there is a big fight ahead, hence support is necessary. Both suffer losses due to lack of compromise. Not only is Congress on the edge in UP, the main opposition party SP will also be in trouble. By fighting together, the opposition to Modi and the minority voters will unite and support the alliance.
