UP / Five-time MLA Arvind Giri dies of heart attack

Uttar Pradesh | Arvind Giri, a five-time MLA from Gola of Khimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, passed away suddenly. On Tuesday morning, the MLA left for Lucknow from Gola in Lakhimpur Kheri district for a meeting. He suffered a heart attack in a moving vehicle near Sidhauli. After this, he was taken to Hind Hospital in Lucknow for treatment where doctors declared BJP MLA Arvind Giri dead. After the news spread, there was a wave of mourning among the BJP workers.

Arvind Giri, 65, was the MLA from the Gola assembly seat for the fifth time in a row. Born on 30 June 1958 in Gola Gokarnath, UP, Arvind Giri started his political journey with the Samajwadi Party in 1994. By winning the elections in 1995, Gola became the municipal president. After this, for the first time in 1996, he became MLA after getting 49 thousand votes on SP ticket. In 2000, he again became the President of Palika Parishad Gola. Then in 2002, on SP ticket, became MLA for the second time of the 14th Legislative Assembly. In 2005, during the SP regime, Anita Giri was elected as the District Panchayat President. In 2007, wife Sudha Giri was elected as the President of the Municipal Council, Gola. In 2007 again became MLA for the third time. In 2007-2009, he was a member of the committee related to the investigation of the audit reports of the local bodies of the state. Elected MLA for the fifth time from the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2022. After the information of his death in Gola, the gathering of people has started.
