Geelani, who had for long led the hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference, died on Wednesday at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar. The restriction was imposed on mass gatherings and the motion of people following Geelani's death. Mobile internet and broadband offerings had been also snapped to avoid any untoward incident.


They had been restored after 10 pm on Friday because the Valley remained peaceful, however, curbs were re-imposed on Saturday morning. Videos of Geelani's body being draped in a Pakistani flag emerged after the restoration of net services, reports say.
