Ahmedabad court / Gujarat Congress working president and MLA Jignesh Mevani 6 month imprisonment

Before the assembly elections in Gujarat, the Congress has suffered a major setback. Congress working president Jignesh Mevani has been sentenced to 6 months in jail by a court in Ahmedabad. In 2016, the court sentenced 19 people, including Mevani, to six months simple imprisonment.

A case was registered regarding violence during the protest against the renaming of Gujarat University. 20 people were made accused in this case, out of which one has died. Ahmedabad Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Friday sentenced 19, including MLAs Jignesh Mevani, Subodh Parmar, Rakesh Mehria, to six months in jail.

The court has sentenced in three cases registered in the whole case. In the first case, he has been sentenced to 6 months in jail, in the second with a fine of Rs 500 and in the third with a fine of Rs 100.
