Justice Neelkanth Ganju was murdered only because he had sentenced terrorist Maqbool Bhat to death while being a judge. For information, let us tell you that in 1989 many Kashmiri Hindus were killed in Kashmir, Hindu women were raped. He had to leave his own house and run away overnight. Now after 34 years, the government has decided to conduct an inquiry into the massacre and has taken a step towards bringing them justice.

What is the whole matter

This whole matter started in the 1960s. Maqbool Butt was the founder of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. Maqbool Butt had killed police officer Amarchand. In 1984, Maqbool Bhatt first kidnapped and later murdered Indian diplomat Ravindra Mhatre in Britain. Maqbool Butt was sentenced to death for the murder of Ravindra Mhatre.

Maqbool Butt was sentenced to death by Justice Neelkanth Ganju. Then in 1984, Maqbool Butt was hanged. To avenge this, Yasin Malik killed Justice Neelkanth Ganju in 1989. On 4 November 1989, Justice Ganju was shot near the High Court in Srinagar. Justice Ganju's body was lying on the road for two hours after the murder.

Yasin Malik later admitted in an interview that he had killed Justice Neelkanth Ganju, but by then terrorists and separatists had become so dominant in Jammu and Kashmir that he was roaming free. But after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, now each and every crime of Yasin Malik is being accounted for. Yasin Malik is already serving a life sentence for waging war against the country, and now another case has opened up.

State Investigation Agency ie SIA has sought people's help in the investigation of Justice Neelkanth Ganju murder case. People have been asked to give whatever facts they have in this matter to the investigating agency. The names and identities of those giving evidence will be kept completely confidential. The investigation of Justice Neelkanth Ganju murder case is just the beginning, many such cases are yet to be opened.
