According to the report of Cricbuzz, PCB has chosen Lahore for India's matches in the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan next year. India's qualifying matches will also be held on this ground. Lahore is close to the Indian border and Team India will not face any problem in travelling. The Government of India will decide whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy or not. A PCB source said ICC General Manager Wasim Khan had also recently visited Lahore where he discussed the Champions Trophy arrangements with top PCB officials and it was suggested that the Indian team's travel itinerary be revised. should be kept to a minimum.

Indian team has not gone to Pakistan since 2008

India and Pakistan are currently playing against each other only in ICC tournaments. The Indian cricket team has not played any match in Pakistan since 2008. Last year, the Indian Cricket Board did not send its team to Pakistan even for the Asia Cup. After this, matches were organized in Pakistan and Sri Lanka under the hybrid model. Then the Pakistani team also came to India to participate in the ODI World Cup 2023. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that all the teams will play the Champions Trophy in Pakistan as per the schedule. He also informed that the renovation work of the stadium will start soon and the tournament is expected to be held in February-March 2025.

8 Teams will participate

8 teams will participate in the Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan has already qualified as the host. Teams from India, Australia, England, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and South Africa will participate in the Champions Trophy 2025. Eight teams will be divided into two groups of four each. Two teams from each group will reach the semi-finals. Pakistan won the Champions Trophy 2017 title by defeating India.
