Train Accident News: A major accident was averted near Jabalpur railway station in Madhya Pradesh when the Indore-Jabalpur Express train narrowly escaped derailment. Around 5:50 am on Saturday, when the train was approaching Jabalpur station, two coaches suddenly derailed. However, no serious accident occurred due to the slow speed of the train. All the passengers on the train are safe, and the work of restoring traffic to normal on the railway track is going on at a fast pace. Officials and employees of the railway department have reached the spot and are controlling the situation.

Early morning incident

Two coaches of the Indore-Jabalpur Overnight Express derailed when they were approaching the platform. CPRO of West Central Railway Harshit Srivastava said, "The train was coming towards Jabalpur and at a distance of about 150 meters from the platform, when the speed of the train was at dead stop speed, two of its coaches derailed. The relief is that no passenger has suffered any injury. All the passengers are safe and have left for their destinations."

Accident happened earlier in August too

This incident has not happened for the first time. On August 18 also, a train collided with an iron rod near Kachpura railway station in Jabalpur division. CPRO of West Central Railway Harshit Srivastava said that the Nainpur-Jabalpur train (05706) collided with the rod when it was around 10 pm. He said that Jabalpur RPF has started investigating the incident and it is being ascertained whether it was a deliberate mistake or someone had left his luggage there. RPF is investigating the matter in collaboration with South East Central Railway Bilaspur Division.
