Chandrayaan 3 Mission: Oxygen has been discovered on the Moon. Our Pragyan rover has discovered this element, which is considered most important for life, on the moon. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on Tuesday that the presence of oxygen on the moon has been confirmed through the Pragyan rover. Oxygen was discovered through the 'Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscope' (LIBS) device fitted in the Pragyan rover. The rover has also confirmed the presence of sulfur near the south pole of the moon.

In a statement issued by ISRO, it was said that for the first time the structure of the lunar surface at the South Pole was investigated through the LIBS device fitted in the Pragyan Rover of Chandrayaan-3. During this, the presence of Sulfur (S) at the South Pole has also been confirmed. ISRO said the rover's spectroscope detected aluminum (A), calcium (C), iron (Fe), chromium (Cr), titanium, manganese, silicon and oxygen as expected. Currently the search for hydrogen is going on.

How was oxygen discovered?

The statement of the Indian Space Agency said, LIBS is a scientific technique, through which a material is targeted with a laser pulse and analyzed. A high energy laser pulse is focused on a part of the surface of the material. This material can be any rock or soil. During this, the laser pulse produces a lot of heat and plasma, which forms the texture of the material.

When a laser pulse is used, plasma light is produced, which is detected by detectors. Actually, when every material goes into the plasma state, a special kind of light emerges, on the basis of which it is told which elements are there in that material. It is through this whole process that elements like oxygen, sulfur have been discovered in the soil of the south pole of the moon.

Pragyan Rover also sent a message from the Moon to Earth on Tuesday. In this message, he told in what condition he is on the moon. Pragyan Rover said that Hello Earthlings, I am Pragyan Rover.
