Dehradun: The 41st Battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has yet again shown its commitment towards helping civilians in distress. Recently, a group of ITBP jawans went out of their way to help an injured woman. According to ANI, the jawans travelled 40-km on foot for 15 hours carrying an injured woman on a stretcher from a remote village, Lapsa to Munsyari in Pithoragarh.
The footage shows the men manoeuvring through difficult terrain to get the woman to a hospital as soon as possible. As reported by ANI, the jawans crossed multiple flooded nullahs & landslide-prone areas. A tweet posted ITBP reads. 'ITBP jawans of 14th Battalion carrying an injured woman on stretcher in Pithoragarh District on 22 August, 2020. Jawans carried her to nearest road head covering 40 Kilometres mountainous route on foot in 15 hours. She is being treated and stable now.'Back in 2018, the Jawans carried a pregnant woman on a stretcher to a hospital that was five kilometres away from her village in Chhattisgarh.Heavy rains and waterlogging were preventing the ambulance from reaching the 30-year-old Sahdai's residence. That's when the jawans came to her rescue.
