JIO New Plan: Reliance Jio, the country's largest user base telecom company, has given a big shock to its prepaid users. Jio has done the first thing that was expected for some time that mobile tariffs may be increased soon. The company has increased its tariff plan by up to 25 percent. It is expected that Airtel and Vodafone Idea will also increase the tariff soon. Let us also tell you how much Jio has increased in which of its plans.

Increase up to 25 percent

Telecom company Reliance Jio has increased its prepaid plans from 12.5 percent to 25 percent. The new rates will come into effect from July 3. The special thing is that the new rates will not apply to existing users. Reliance Jio has announced that the tariff has not been increased for Jio Bharat and Jio Phone users. Reliance Jio has increased the prices of its 19 plans, of which 17 are prepaid and 2 are postpaid. The special thing is that for the first time Jio has increased its tariff before Airtel.


Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash M Ambani said in a statement that the launch of new plans is a step towards advancing industry innovation and promoting environmentally friendly growth through investment in 5G and AI technology. According to the company's statement, unlimited 5G data will be available on all plans of 2 GB per day and above.

This is how the plan was increased

  • According to the new tariff plan of Reliance Jio, the base tariff which was earlier Rs 155 has now been increased to Rs 189. This means that it has been increased by 22 percent. The price of monthly tariff of Rs 399 has been increased to Rs 449.
  • If we talk about the two-month plan, the plan of Rs 479 has been increased to Rs 579. On the other hand, the plan of Rs 533 has been increased to Rs 629.
  • The 3 month plan was earlier priced between Rs 395 and Rs 999. This has been increased to Rs 479 and Rs 1199.
  • The Rs 1559 annual plan will now be available for Rs 1899. The Rs 2999 annual plan has been made available for Rs 3599.
  • Talking about the data add-on plan, which was earlier priced between Rs 15 and Rs 61, this has been increased to Rs 19 and Rs 69.
Increase in postpaid plans too

Jio has increased two postpaid plans. The Rs 299 postpaid plan has been increased to Rs 349. This plan offers 30 GB free data. On the other hand, the Rs 399 postpaid plan has been increased to Rs 449. This plan offers 75 GB of data per month.

Will Airtel and Wi-Fi make any increase?

It is expected that Airtel and Vodafone Idea are next. This is the first time that Jio has increased the tariff before Airtel. After Jio's increase, Airtel may also see an increase. After that, Vodafone Idea may also see an increase. Recently, telecom companies had joined the bid for 5G spectrum. After which the news came that telecom companies can increase the tariff by 20 to 25 percent.

Increase in the shares of companies at record level

Even though Airtel has not announced the increase in tariff yet, but the company's share reached a record level in the stock market. According to the data, during the trading session, Airtel's share appeared at a 52-week high of Rs 1,489. After the market closed, the company's share appeared at Rs 1471.80 with an increase of Rs 13.25.

Apart from this, Vodafone Idea's stock is continuously rising. According to BSE data, it closed at Rs 18.52 with a gain of 2.77 percent. However, during the trading session, the company's stock also appeared at a 52-week high of Rs 18.70. At the same time, a good rise was seen in the stock of Reliance Industries.
