India / London Court Refuses Nirav Modi Bail Again, Next Hearing on 26 Apr

A UK court on Friday rejected the second bail petitions of Nirav Modi, accused in the PNB scam.The court said that there is enough evidence that the fugitive shall not surrender. Earlier, Nirav Modi appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court for a second time bail plea. Neerav Modi, like this for the first time in the court, was wearing white shirt this time too. Neerav Modi was arrested last week in London.

PNB scam accused Nirav Modi’s second bail plea was rejected by Westminster Magistrates’ court in London on Friday, 29 March.

The prosecution argued that Nirav Modi “threatened to kill” a witness and destroyed evidence. He was also accused of not cooperating with the Indian agencies.

The next date of hearing in the matter is on 26 April.

His first plea had been rejected on 20 March, after his arrest on 19 March. A London court had issued an arrest warrant against him on 18 March.
